Lynchburg, Tennessee

The clouds were low over the Tennessee mountains yesterday, and the drizzle was constant. But one of the nice things about this part of the world is that rain can be warm, and grey clouds keep the blazing sun at bay. It was a lovely day to spend wandering a whiskey distillery and eating some traditional home cooking.

It’s a tradition in my husband’s family to head up to Miss. Mary Bobo’s for lunch once during the Christmas season. Then they head over to the Jack Daniel’s Distillery for a tour of the place, and to buy a couple of cases of whiskey (although they’re almost all teetotalers).

It’s a beautiful drive through the mountains, and Lynchburg is an adorable little town.

And on the drive home I cranked up the heated seats, and dozed off. Perfect.
