We went and had brunch with my grandmother today. She was a little overwhelmed, and sometimes left the conversation, but it was so good to see her. She was looking well. She’d had her hair done. And she was very excited to have us all there.
After we got home, my brother came over and we played Rock Band for awhile. Thank goodness no one other than my parents had to listen to my caterwauling.
We curled up on the couch, with plates of turkey dinner leftovers on our knees, and watched a Christmas movie.
My dad was thrilled. He gets almost giddy happy when he has his whole family all together. When he was admiring his family, he was admiring the view outside.
It is cold here right now. They say it will warm up soon, but in the meantime we’re snug here in the house. It’s a very civilized way of living out the winter, really.
